Being Yoga Podcast - Episode 21
Lisa Petersen
The Power of Movement to Heal Your Body and Mind
Lisa Petersen is a somatic movement specialist and yoga teacher who teaches through a rich understanding of embodiment, experiential anatomy and development movement positions. She helps students move out of pain and tension toward relaxed ease in their bodies.
In this episode we discuss the principle of early life Developmental Movement Patterns - why we all have them and how it can be extremely healing to tap back into these primal movements in your yoga practice. We discuss the principles of Somatics and how you can enhance your yoga by adding some new key understandings about your body.
We talk about the mind body connection and how so many neural patterns are actually stored in the body. When you begin to connect the body with feeling, movement and awareness then almost magical shifts and healings begin to occur.
